John Wooden was an extraordinarily successful basketball coach of the UCLA Bruins, winning 10 National Championships while on campus. He was also an extraordinary man. One of his former players, NBA Hall-of-famer Bill Walton, who was part of an 88-game win streak and three National Championships while at UCLA wrote the Forward. In it, he wrote: “Wooden has to be regarded as one of the more extraordinary people of our time, in our out of sports.” Many people who knew him agree with Walton’s assessment.
