This book helped turn Davy Crockett and the battle for the Alamo into an undying legend. It reinforced Crockett’s image as the “King of the Frontier”. According to Howes, this “ingenuous pseudo-autobiography, [was] purportedly printed from the manuscript found with the baggage of a Mexican general slain at San Jacinto.”

London; R. Kennett, 1837. 1st English edition (Also published in the U.S.) 152 pages. Three quarter leather over marbled boards, red leather label on spine titled with gold lettering, marbled endpapers housed in a custom clamshell. A beautiful book in extraordinary condition. Minor wear to board edges and minor age toning to pages. Overall NEAR FINE to FINE.
