Volume 1 contains a total of 783 pages, part 1 containing 400 pages and part 2 containing the remaining 383 pages. Volume 2 contains a total of 772 pages, part 1 having 358 pages, and part 2 having the remaining 389 pages. All four books are 3-quarters leather bound. The bottoms of the boards including the leather corners and spines have rubbing. The severity varies, with Volume 1, part 1 having the most wear, including rubbing to the front and back corners of leather bounding, most predominantly to the front top right corner. It also has one completely loose front endpaper. Due to age, the pages are discolored and contain some stains, mostly on the front pages. The books’ internal joints have small tearing, mostly in volume 1, part 1, with the entire length of the hinge having a tear. These tears, however, do not impact the integrity of the books. The other books have slight tearing to their internal hinges, mostly at the tops of the front and back joints. Overall, although aged, the books are very attractive, all having marbled covers and endpapers, along with deep maroon sprayed edges. Volume 1, part 1, is in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition. The other books are in VERY GOOD condition, especially for their age.
