Ultimately, the two volumes reveal how the wealth and prestige intended to secure the Columbus family's future instead fueled a legacy of bitter legal struggles that lasted for nearly 300 years.

They are both sleek, hardcover books with no dust jackets, and uncut pages. The second volume has a pocket on the inner back cover which holds descendant charts of Christopher Colombus’ relatives. Both volumes also have a small sticker bookplate from the previous owner. Both books are in NEAR FINE condition, both having minute spots of discoloration on the top edges of the board. Volume 1 has a tiny stain seemingly from a drop of some sort on the top of the page edges.
