Description Additional info Product reviews

Green was a first-rate raconteur. Apparently, he was a pretty horse trader too. And like all good horse traders, he was known to take the occasional liberty with the truth. For example, Green claimed for the longest time to be a veterinarian, often signing his books “Dr Ben K Green”.   Alas, he was not an esteemed Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine. Still, he was a great storyteller. The story he tells in this book is no exception. While a teenager, a shortage of horses in East Texas created an early opportunity for Green. He went West to acquire horses. That has the makings of a pretty good story; however, it was getting the horses home that brings the laughter.

Flagstaff: Northland Press, 1971. Special edition limited to 100 copies (this is #57). Hardcover book with leather backstrip over cloth covered boards, all housed in publisher’s slipcase. No dustjacket, as issued. 73 pages. Book is NEAR FINE to FINE. The slipcase has a few minor bumps, bruises and blemishes but remains VERY GOOD. SIGNED BY GREEN. There is also an original signed original drawing in the book by illustrator Joe Beeler.
