Designated by Louis Merrill an “Aristocrat of the Cattle Country”. One of the most difficult of the Merrill items to find. Donaghey was governor of Arkansas at one time. In this book, he relates his early experiences as a cowboy in Texas. Mention is made of Bill Longley and Sam Bass.
N.P.: Privately published by George W. Donaghey. 1924. 1st edition. 31 pages. Wrappers housed in a custom enclosure. The cover has in ink imprint stating: “No such post office in state named” and the original adhesive tab that sealed the item for mailing remains affixed to the front and back covers. Finally, evidence of conservation work is evident to the top 1” to 1.5” of the front cover (it is very well done but present nevertheless) as well as a much smaller triangular area of repair evident on the rear cover next to the spine at the top. Overall, this fragile item is in VERY GOOD condition. Enclosure is FINE
